Your Mobile Library And Information ServiceNYCC LibraryOn the RoadIt doesn't matter where you live in North Yorkshire, you'll always be close to a library. If you live in a small community then maybe the Mobile Library and Information Service is just what you need. Our specially-equipped vans and a large `super mobile' cover the length and breadth of North Yorkshire, taking books and information to those places other services just cannot reach. Every week, our vehicles visit over fifteen hundred stops serving people from Aberford to Myton on Swale, from Nappa Scar to Yockenthwaite. When does the Mobile visit?Mobile libraries usually visit their customers at regular times. A calendar bookmark and timetable is available to help you to remember the day and time the library will visit.
You can also find out when the mobile library comes to you by visiting our website http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/libraries If we can't visit for any reason, staff will let you know and alternative visits may be arranged. Many of our mobile libraries are fitted with step lifts for easier access. What's in it for me?Each mobile library carries at least 2,000 books suitable for all tastes and age groups. Mobile libraries also stock talking books and videos for adults and children. There is a small hire charge to borrow these items. If you can't find what you want you can request books, sound and vision items or even periodical articles. There is a small charge for this service. If you can't find the information you need, staff will be happy to pass on information enquiries to our specialist staff. Joining the LibraryIt's very simple, just bring along some proof of identity, showing your current address and you can have a ticket straight away.
