Sycamore Hall is an extra care housing development providing care/support services to older people.

The scheme has been designed to accommodate older people and will provide accessible rented accommodation suitable for people with a range of disabilities, offering security of tenure.
The scheme houses the village shop, a local hairdresser, a restaurant and a local library

Aims of Sycamore Hall

  • To provide a new housing choice for older people
  • To promote independence and choice
  • To provide a range of communal facilities to enhance the local community

Sycamore Hall includes :

  • A total of 40 self contained apartments comprising 35 one bedroom and 5 two bedroom flats

Scheme Services

  • A Scheme Manager : Michelle Mottershead
  • Care and support service day and night with 24 hour on call facilty.
  • Personal care and support (at an extra cost) tailored to meet individual needs, monitored and assessed by Social Services
  • Concessionary TV licence
  • Support to access a range of services including welfare rights

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for a tenancy at Sycamore Hall you will need to be:

  • Registered on the housing waiting list of Richmondshire District Council, who will nominate them for re housing with Housing 21.
  • Have a housing need or require some level of support. Have health, related needs, or is awaiting discharge from residential, nursing or hospital care identified by a Social Services assessment of need.
  • They will usually be aged 60 or over, (exception can be made in light of physical or sensory disability)

To ensure that each application is treated fairly, every applicant’s circumstances will be carefully considered by a multi-agency panel and the decision made on individual merit of each application in line with Richmondshire District Council’s allocation policy

How to apply

All applicants must be on Richmondshire District Council’s Housing register.

North Yorkshire Council Social Services will make referrals to the scheme.
Everyone applying for a tenancy will require an assessment to establish any needs they may have and how these can be met.
