Raydale Rambles

The Kettlewell family, Derek, Lesley and their three sons, farm in the hamlet of Stalling Busk ,which enjoys an elevated position high above the upper reaches of Raydale, overlooking the beautiful lake Semerwater. The family have farmed here since the 1940’s.

RAYDALE RAMBLES – Conservation walks. After sampling the delights of Raydale Preserves why not set out on one of our Raydale Rambles and experience the history, beauty and tranquility of our landscape, which is managed with conservation in mind for the benefit of the environment and its wildlife.

  • WALK ONE – in the footsteps of Celts, Romans and Monks
    Old Roman Roads, the remote landscape of Cragdale, prehistoric settlements and a monastic sheepwash.
  • WALK TWO – Waterfalls and Haymeadows
    Traditional Haymeadows, a trio of spectacular waterfalls, riverside pastures and the old stony track of Busk Lane.
  • WALK THREE – The Ruined Church
    An old walled lane, views towards Semerwater, haymeadows and a ruined 17th century church set in peaceful surroundings.
  • WALK FOUR – The Raydale Ramble
