PURPOSE
The Askrigg Foundation is a Charitable Trust (Charity Number 500838) whose Trustees work to `help the Vicar of Askrigg and the local Church in their Christian Ministry’. ‘A key element of the charity’s work is to raise money for their Bursary Fund allowing under-privileged youngsters to attend Low Mill Outdoor Centre (see below)’.
AIM
The ministry is exercised in serving the local community and being of service to our visitors.
ST OSWALD’S, ASKRIGGÂ ST MATTHEW’S, STALLING BUSK ST MARGARET’S, HAWES ST MARY & ST JOHN, HARDRAW
Our Parish Churches are at the heart of our ministry. The work which stems from these is supported by the Foundation in a number of ways.
PARISH OFFICE
The Parish Office is above the shop – Next Door
The Foundation Secretary manages our office which serves our Church Councils as well as administering the day-to-day business of the charity.
The office is generally open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 2.00pm.
LOW MILL OUTDOOR CENTRE
The Foundation originally founded and established Low Mill Outdoor Centre in Askrigg which is open all year round offering a range of outdoor activities for the young, regardless of sex, race or creed.
The Centre is specially adapted for the physically handicapped and is staffed by a team of trained professionals.
Low Mill is now run as an Independent Charity (Registered Number 504697) but The Askrigg Foundation maintains a close link, administering a Bursary Fund which enables those who are less well off to attend the Outdoor Centre.
